AB Understanding  the  anatomy  and  physiology  of  pain  transmission  systems  is  important  for  the  pain  management  specialist  because  it  informs  diagnostic  and  treatment  decisions  for  the  common  pain  syndromes  for  which  patients  seek  help  (e.g.,  diabetic  neuropathy  and  migraine  headache).
